We'll just use a copy of production — it's a phrase that has launched a thousand compliance violations. IBM i shops often sit on decades of richly structured data in Db2 for i that is invaluable for testing, but off-limits for good reason. This session shows how AI can intelligently anonymize and synthesize test data that preserves referential integrity, realistic data distributions, and business logic — without exposing PII or violating GDPR, HIPAA, or SOC 2 requirements. We'll cover practical approaches using AI tooling alongside native IBM i capabilities, and walk through real patterns for masking data across related physical and logical files.

In this session we will put IBM Bob to work. We will do a live demo of Bob, how the powerful interaction between the developer and the AI tooling can help you solve problems, gain insight and understanding that was not possible in the past. We will explore several use cases on how Bob can be leverage by the Architect as well as the core programmer.

Ann and Ryan are both developers in the IBM i development lab. They both have access to IBM Bob and have been exploring ways to leverage AI development assistance as a part of their daily development activities. Ann and Ryan will share areas of success and even things that did not work well. This session is intended to help you gain insight into how IBM Bob can be a valuable development partner.
